I haven’t done Pilates before – where should I start?

If you are injured or in pain you should do Group Clinical Exercise, if you are doing Pilates for fitness it is best to start with
FOUNDATION Reformer.

What do I need to know for my first class?

Please arrive 10 minutes early to familiarise yourself with the studio, fill out a registration form and meet your instructor.

What do I wear?

Wear active wear (leggings or stretchy shorts), a tee shirt or singlet and grip socks (available for purchase at the studio if needed).

What facilities do you have?

We provide complimentary towels, filtered water, clean tea and offer shower facilities.

Do I need to be fit?

We believe Pilates is for everyone and have a class to meet everyone’s needs – from the absolute beginner and people with injuries to the absolute pros.

Who is Pilates for?

We believe that Pilates is for everyone and welcome you to our friendly studio. Our instructors offer guidance to help your body reach its complete potential.

We have worked with people from all walks of life from age 7 to 97 and with all different physical conditions and issues. When working with a Physiotherapist either one-on-one or in a small group setting, your own personal needs and physical attributes are taken into consideration when developing a program design.

What to expect from Your First few Sessions:

The LOFT is a beautifully designed boutique studio in the center of Pottsville with the latest state of the art equipment. Our instructors are experts, compassionate and enthusiastic and will create programs that will get you excited & inspired to achieve your goals! In just a few sessions you will feel your core muscles turning on and your posture starting to improve.

I am interested in Group Clinical Exercise, what will my assessment and first private Pilates session be like?

We’ll get to know you, discuss your fitness goals as well as do a physical assessment so we can create a custom program designed to meet your exact needs. In your first private Pilates session you will learn the Pilates basics as well as commence your personalised program.

Can I do Pilates if I am injured?

Injury rehabilitation is what Physiotherapists specialise in. You will need to commence with an assessment and move into the Group Clinical Exercise classes with a personalised program tailored to you and your injury.

Can I do Pilates if I am pregnant?

Yes, Pilates is one of the best forms of exercise during pregnancy especially under the watchful eye of a Physiotherapist! Your program will change as your pregnancy progresses to address the changes occurring in your body.

How often should I attend?

It really is a personal choice, some people come every day, others once a week. We recommend 3 sessions / week for maximum benefit.
